농협 경제사업의 비시장적 가치 평가 연구 -전북지역 조합원·비조합원을 대상으로-
A Non-Market Value Estimation on Economic Business of Agricultural Cooperatives in Jeon-Buk Province

The purpose of this study was to estimate the non-market value on economic business ofagricultural cooperatives in Jeon-buk Proince. we measured with Contingent ValuationMethod (CVM) some value which is impossible to be calculated by a valuation method forcommon private goods, that is, non-market value including social and public value on theeconomic business of agricultural cooperatives. Based on these estimated figures, weconfirmed value and identity of Agricultural cooperatives as a social economy organizationand then tried to suggest needs for its desirable social functions and expansion of its role. Total study participants are 300, among whom 150 cooperatives’ members and 150non-members. Study results indicate that in case of members, both proprietors and serviceusers of cooperatives, their willingness to pay (WTP) is shown to be 56,651 won per head. Meanwhile, WTP of non-members appears to be 18,708 won per person. On the basis of these calculated WTP data, public value of Agricultural cooperatives economic business canbe estimated to be worth around 24.1 billion won by the entire number of all householdsin Jeon-buk. The non-market value of Agricultural cooperatives is expected to get muchbigger if the public value which credit business makes is concerned together.
