초록

본 연구에서는 AIT의 연구동향을 분석하고 AIT가 장애아동의 발달에 미치는 효과를 밝히고자 1993년부터 2003년까지 국내외 실험연구 31편을 분석하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다.첫째, 분석대상 논문의 연구동향을 분석한 결과, 연구설계 면에서는 절반을 훨씬 능가하는 연구들이 실험집단만으로 연구를 진행하여 연구설계 상의 제한점이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 데이터 측정도구를 살펴보면, 언어, 행동, 주의집중, 청각문제, 소리민감도, 청력도검사가 선호되는 것으로 나타났다. AIT의 데이터 측정 시기는 약 절반에 해당하는 연구에서 사전, 사후 1회의 데이터만 측정한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 분석대상 연구 중 상당수가 데이터 측정기간이 미흡하다고 할 수 있다. 피험자수를 살펴보면, 전체연구의 평균 피험자의 수는 54.5명으로 적지 않으나, 1명 피험자나 2명을 피험자로 한 연구, 또는 통제집단이 없이 10명 이하의 피험자를 대상으로 한 연구들이 상당 수 있는 것으로 나타나서 이러한 연구의 결과를 신뢰하기에 문제가 있다고 할 수 있다. 피험자들의 연령대는 대부분이 3세에서 24세의 범위에 있었다. 이 연령대 중에서도 13세 이전이 절대다수를 차지하였다. 이용된 AIT 기기는 분석대상 31개 AIT 관련 연구 중에서 1개 연구에서 2가지 기기(AudioKinetron과 Earducator)를 이용하였고, 나머지 30개 연구는 AudioKinetron을 이용한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, AIT의 효과를 분석한 결과, AIT관련 연구의 대부분에서 효과를 보고하였고, 발달영역별 효과 면에서 가장 많이 긍정적 결과를 보고한 영역은 청각/소리과민 영역이었으며, 다음으로 언어, 행동으로 나타났다.
