Abstract
Public mobility has evolved beyond a mode of transportation into a public design platform that conveys brand value and emotional experience. Accordingly, Color, Material, and Finish(CMF) elements are gaining attention as key mediators of brand identity and user experience. This study examines how CMF contributes to brand experience and identity in public mobility design. Drawing on global concept car cases, CMF strategies were comparatively analyzed, and two design proposals Design A and Design B—were developed with distinct formal languages and emotional directions. Design A reflects structural linearity and a technology-oriented image, while Design B emphasizes fluid forms and emotion-driven values. A quantitative evaluation was conducted with six UX design experts using a Likert scale, with standard deviation and variance used to assess acceptance and inter-rater agreement. Results showed Design A scored higher in functionality and stability, while Design B was rated more favorably in emotional appeal and color expression. Although not statistically significant, the two designs demonstrated distinct brand orientations and user experience traits. Expert evaluations showed greater agreement for the function-focused design. This study confirms CMF as a strategic tool in expressing brand experience and identity in public mobility design and calls for future user-centered evaluations and emotional UX analysis to deepen validation of its effectiveness.
