이 연구는 학령기 자폐성 장애아 어머니의 적응과정을 분석하기 위하여 어머니의 양육스트레스, 가족기능성, 사회적 지지, 위기상황에 대한 가족의 재정의, 그리고 심리적 안녕감의 관계를 살펴보았다. 분석자료는 대구광역시에 거주하고 있는 학령기 자폐성 장애아 어머니 181명의 응답내용이다. 조사결과, 첫째, 학령기 자폐성 장애아 어머니의 양육스트레스 평균은 상대적으로 낮게 나타났고, 가족기능성과 위기상황에 대한 가족의 재정의의 평균은 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 학령기 자폐성 장애아 어머니의 양육스트레스는 가족기능성, 사회적 지지, 위기상황에 대한 가족의 재정의, 심리적 안녕감에 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있었다. 그러나 학령기 자폐성 장애아 어머니의 가족기능성, 사회적 지지는 심리적 안녕감에 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있지 않았으며, 위기상황에 대한 가족의 재정의 요인만이 심리적 안녕감에 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있었다. 셋째, 학령기 자폐성 장애아 어머니의 가족기능성, 사회적 지지, 위기상황에 대한 가족의 재정의 요인들은 양육스트레스와 심리적 안녕감 사이에 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 학령기 자폐성 장애아 어머니의 적응과정과 안녕감을 증진하기 위한 개입방안을 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study examined relationships between mothers' parenting stress, family functionality, social support, redefinition of family in dangerous situations, and psychological well-being in order to analyze the adjustment process of mothers of children with autistic disability in school age. Analysis data is based on responses of 181 mothers of children with autistic disability in school age, who live in Daegu city. Findings are as follows: First, the average of parenting stress of parenting stress of the mothers of the children with autistic disability in school age was relatively low, and the average of the family functionality and the redefinition of family in the critical situations was high. Second, the parenting stress of the mothers of the children with autistic disability in school age were exerting a significant effect on the family functionality, social support, redefinition of family in the critical situations, and psychological well-being. Family functionality and social support of the mothers of the children with autistic disability in school age were not exerting a significant effect on psychological well-being, and only a factor of redefinition of family of the critical situations was exerting a significant effect on psychological well-being. Third, it was found factors of family functionality of the mothers of the children with autistic disability in school age, social support, and redefinition of family in the critical situations play a role as a mediator between parenting stress and psychological well-being. Based on this analysis, intervention programs were proposed in order to enhance the well-being and the adjustment process of mothers of children with autistic disability in school age.
