정서적 학대 경험과 성인기 심리적 부적응간의 관계: 정서 인식의 어려움과 정서 표현 억제의 매개효과

초록

본 연구는 정서적 학대 경험과 성인기 심리적 부적응간의 관계에서 정서 인식의 어려움과 정서 표현의 억제라는 정서 관련 변인들이 매개하는지를 검증하였다. 선행 연구들을 바탕으로 정서 인식의 어려움과 정서 표현의 억제가 정서적 학대 경험과 성인기 심리적 부적응간의 관계를 순차적으로 매개한다고 가정하는 두 가지 이중 매개 모형, 즉 부분 이중 매개 모형과 완전 이중 매개 모형을 설정하였다. 그런 다음 두 가지 이중 매개 모형들과 대안 모형을 비교하기 위해 대학생들을 대상으로 자료를 수집하여 구조방정식 모형으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 부분 이중 매개 모형이 수집된 자료에 가장 잘 부합하였다. 즉, 정서적 학대 경험과 성인기 심리적 부적응간의 관계를 정서 인식의 어려움과 정서 표현의 억제가 순차적으로 매개하였다. 또한 정서적 학대 경험은 성인기 심리적 부적응에 직접적으로도 영향을 주었다. 추가적으로 남, 녀 성별에 따른 매개 효과의 차이를 살펴보기 위해 분석을 한 결과, 여자의 경우 부분 이중 매개 모형이 더 적합한 것으로, 남자의 경우 완전 이중 매개 모형이 더 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의 및 제한점과 후속 연구의 방향에 관해 논의하였다.

Abstract

This study examined the long term effect of emotional abuse on adulthood, as well as the mediating roles of emotional variables and its structural relations. Based on previous studies, partial and full dual mediation models were proposed, in which difficulty on emotional awareness and emotional inhibition sequentially mediated the relationship between emotional abuse and adulthood psychological distress. In order to compare two mediation models and an alternative model, structural equation modeling(SEM) was used. The SEM revealed that a partial dual mediation model fit the data well. These findings suggest that difficulty on emotional awareness and emotional inhibition sequentially mediate the relationship between emotional abuse and adulthood psychological distress, and emotional abuse directly influence adulthood psychological distress. Additionally, this study also examined the gender difference between two mediation models. For women, partial dual mediation model fit the data. On the other hand, for men full dual mediation model fit the data well. Finally, implications and limitations of this study and suggestions for future study were addressed.
