Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine reliability and validity of Community Referenced Skill Checklist of adaptive behavior. In order to achieve the purpose of study, it was administered with 805 students including students with and without disabilities aged from 3 months through 18 years 11 months. The results of this study are as follows. First, according to the results of reliability test, Cronbach alpha coefficient in 261 items and full scale respectively revealed 0.93 through 0.98 for students without disabilities and 0.84 through 0.97 for students with developmental disabilities. Second, according to the results of validity test, correlation coefficients varied between 0.28 and 0.74, averaging 0.52 for students without disabilities. A strong positive correlation was found among chronological age, social interaction, community safety, and money management and shopping. Correlation coefficients varied between 0.62 and 0.74, averaging 0.69. Therefore, reliability and validity of Community Referenced Skill Checklist were proven to be valid and reliable to use as an adaptive behavior scale of community living skill.
