초록
Objectives: This retrospective case report details the clinical course of a patient diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) with anxious distress and comorbid panic attacks, emphasizing the application of Integrative Korean Medicine treatment. Methods: The patient received integrative Korean medicine therapy, which included the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). Clinical status was assessed using the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), the European Quality of Life-5 Dimensions (EQ-5D) scale, and the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) for pain intensity during panic attacks, as well as the duration of each episode. Results: Post-treatment assessments indicated improvement in depressive symptoms, as evidenced by lower BDI scores, and enhanced quality of life, as shown by improved EQ-5D scores. However, the frequency of panic attacks and the severity of somatic pain gradually increased throughout the treatment period. Conclusions: This case highlights important clinical considerations in managing patients with depressive disorders and a history of panic attacks. Further clinical evidence is needed to develop refined guidelines, with a focus on advancing individualized treatment strategies.
