본 조사는 법원에서 협의 이혼 대기 중인 부모 중, 이혼 후 미성년 자녀를 양육하지 않기로 한 비 양육 부모를 대상으로 실시되었다. 조사의 목적은 이혼과정에서 비 양육부모의 부모역할 수행에 대한 인식 실태를 파악하여 이혼 후에도 부모 역할을 효과적으로 수행하도록 하는 데 필요한 기초 자료를 얻고자 하였다. 조사 결과 첫째, 비 양육 부모가 자녀를 양육하지 않기로 결정한 가장 큰 이유는 자녀가 상대 양육부모를 더 잘 따르기 때문이라고 답하였다. 둘째, 비 양육 부모의 부모역할 수행에 대한 인식이 자녀 연령에 따라 차이가 있었으며, 자녀가 어릴수록 부모의 이혼에 대해 의논하는 경험, 이혼 결정을 알린 경험, 면접교섭 유형에 대해 상의한 경험이 적게 나타났다.
Abstract
This article investigated the parent’s role performance perceived by non-custodial parents during the consensual divorce process. It was performed to get the basic data for helping parents to have effect parent’s role performance for their children. The people in this article were 99 non-custodial parents who attended the meeting for consensual divorce at Seoul Family Court. First, the study showed that the most critical factor of non-custodial parent’s decision of non-custody is the “children’s preference of living with their spouse”. Second, it was found out that the older the children are, the more often the parents take into account the children’s opinion on their decision of divorce and discuss on the type and method of interview with their children.
