보험산업의 포용적 성장과 삶의 질에 대한 연구

초록

시장자본주의 심화에 따른 부작용을 해결할 대안의 하나로 포용적 성장론이 대두하고 있다. 이러한 시점에 본 연구는 우리나라 보험산업에 초점을 맞추어, 보험산업의 포용적 성장이 국민 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 분석기간을 ’00년~’19년으로 설정하고, 보험산업의 포용적 성장과 삶의 질의 변수 수집하여 시계열 다중회귀분석을 진행하였다. 시계열 다중회귀분석에서 독립변수로는 보험서비스에 대한 접근성, 보험서비스 이용, 보험 상품 및 서비스 제공 품질 등을 사용하였으며, 종속변수는 OECD의 Well-Being 지수 중 삶에 대한 만족과 United Nations Development Programme의 인간개발지수를 사용하였다. 분석결과 보험산업의 포용적 성장은 OECD의 삶에 대한 만족과 UNDP의 인간개발지수 모두에 통계적 유의수준 5%이내에서 정(+)의 영향을 주는 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 보험산업의 포용적 성장은 삶의 질 향상에 긍정적 영향을 미친다고 할 수 있다. 그리고 삶의 질 향상에는 기존 연구에서 확인된 소득수준, 연령, 건강, 교육수준 등도 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 삶의 질 향상을 위해 보험산업의 포용적 성장이 필요하며, 보험산업의 포용적 성장을 위해서는 국민의 보험서비스에 대한 접근성을 높이고, 보험서비스 이용을 활성화하며, 그리고 보험 상품 및 서비스 제공 품질을 높여야 한다는 것을 시사한다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of inclusive growth in the insurance industry on the quality of life. For this purpose, the analysis period of this study was from 2000 to 2019, and factor analysis and time series multiple regression analysis were used for the analysis. As a result of the factor analysis, it was confirmed that the inclusive growth of the insurance industry consists of three factors: access to insurance services, use of insurance services, and quality of insurance products and services. And as a result of time series multiple regression analysis, it was confirmed that inclusive growth of the insurance industry had a positive (+) effect on both OECD life satisfaction and UNDP's human development index within 5% of the statistical significance level. The result of this study is that the inclusive growth of the insurance industry has a positive effect on the quality of life. Therefore, it suggests that for inclusive growth of the insurance industry, it is necessary to increase the public's access to insurance services, activate the use of insurance services, and improve the quality of insurance products and services.
