Abstract

Functional analysis is the manipulation of variables that are supposed to cause or maintain problem behavior through a functional assessment. Through much research, we can see that communication training that analyzes the underlying functions of problem behaviors and strengthens socially acceptable alternative behaviors accordingly has a great effect and lasts long. The purpose of this study was to investigate the functional assessment and functional analysis for the improvement of problem behavior of children with behavioral disabilities and to examine the effectiveness and limitations of the communication training model.
