Abstract

Globalization, defined as a social, cultural process in which by frequent industrial and cultural context exchanges between regions the regional boundness has collapsed and the world appears to be a grand world community, is the topic of conversation in schools, business firms, public organizations, and government organizations or services as a social term accounting for sudden social changes of the world in 1990s. In such a context, this study is aimed at investigate the directions and the tasks for globalization of korean dance. The results is as followings. First, as directions of globalization of korean dance, the relation between original dimension(identity) and universal dimension(universality) in korean dance which were occurred in search for directions of globalization of korean dance should be transform tensional to dialectical. Second, as tasks of korean dance, followings are need to realize; 1) globalization of mind of personals who are concerned in korean dance, 2) development of repertoire of korean dance, 3) improvement of system of dance education, 4) enlargement of communication by personals who are concerned in korean dance, 5) stretch of publicity work in foreign countries.
