이 연구는 스포츠에서 페어플레이와 관련한 인식과 행위의 관계에 있어서 도덕적 정당화를 이끌어내기 위한 메타윤리학적 전제를 분석하는 연구이다. 이것은 페어플레이와 관련한 언명들을 포괄적 도덕법칙으로 천착하려할 때 발생하는 존재론적 문제들, 즉 사실/존재와 가치/당위의 문제들에 대한 해명을 뜻하는 것이기도 하다. 역사적으로 페어플레이는 스포츠 선수들에게 부과되었던 도덕적 규범들로 이해되어 왔고, 이것은 하나의 언명과 같은 형태로 정당화되었다. 그러나 페어플레이를 하나의 선으로 상정하려는 규정주의적 시도는 독자적인데 반해 선이라고 하는 도덕의 궁극적인 질문에 대해 궁색하다고 판단된다. 따라서 이것을 하나의 윤리학적 원리로 상정하기 위해서는 심리철학을 중심으로 한 물리주의적 인과에 대한 동의와 정신의 인과력을 지킬 수 있는 수반과 같은 개념적 장치들을 검토해야 한다고 보고 이를 검토하였다. 가치 속성이 물리적 세계에 전적으로 영향을 미칠 수 있는 인과적 힘이 없다면 가치속성은 사실 속성에 수반되어 행위를 이끌어 낼 수 있다고 말하는 윤리적 수반은 페어플레이라는 정신이 실천, 즉 행동으로 이어질 때 이것이 정신으로부터 인도되었다는 인과적 설명을 가능하게 해 주면서 페어플레이의 도덕적 정당화의 기본조건을 충족시켜 주는데 기여한다는 것이다.
Abstract
This study aims to examine ethical premises to exert moral justification in the relation between recognition and behavior regarding fair play in sports. For this purpose, ontological problems which may take place when fair play is considered as a complete moral rule - i.e. the explanation of attributes of facts and value – are reviewed conceptually in order to assume it as an ethical principle. Historically, fair play is a moral norm imposed to sports players and has been justified as a kind of statement. While the attempt of imotivists who assume fair play as good is independent, as it cannot fully explain ultimate questions of morality, it has been argued that the review of conceptual devices such as supervenience must be made in order to maintain the consent of physical cause and causal power of morality based on philosophy of mind. The ethical supervenience argues that value attribute can extract behavior based on the factual attribute if value attributes have no causal power affecting on physical world fully. Therefore, the ethical supervenience is able to make conceptual explain that the spirit of fair play can lead to practice, i.e., behavior which, in turn, satisfies conditions of justification of fair play.
