스포츠는 신체와 신체운동으로 이루어지는 소통체계이다. 소통은 의미를 처리하는 과정인데, 처리되는 의미는 비가시적이기 때문에 의미를 가시화시켜줄 수 있는 매체가 필요하다. 일반 소통에서는 대개 언어와 문자가 매체로 이용되지만 스포츠에서는 신체와 신체운동이 그 역할을 담당한다. 스포츠에서 신체와 신체운동을 통해 처리되는 의미는 신체의 탁월성을 지시하는 성과이다. 따라서 스포츠의 신체운동은 모두 성과를 통보하는 작동이라고 할 수 있다. 스포츠를 한다는 것은 성과를 통보하는 신체운동에 또 다른 성과를 통보하는 신체운동이 계속해서 연계된다는 것을 의미한다. 성과는 스포츠의 성공매체로서 비교가능성과 연결가능성을 제공해줌으로써 소통제안의 수용개연성을 상승시켜주며, 우월한 성과/열등한 성과로 코드화됨으로써 스포츠체계가 작동적으로 폐쇄되게 만들어준다.
Abstract
Sport is a communication system composed of the body and a physical exercise activity. Communication is a process of processing meaning, and since the processed meaning is invisible, a medium, which can visualize the meaning, is needed. In general communication, words and letters are usually used as media, but in sports, the body and the physical exercise activity play the role of media. In sports, the meaning processed through the body and the physical exercise activity is an achievement which indicates the excellence of the bodily ability. Therefore, this study suggests that all physical exercise activities in sports are an act of indicating performance. Doing sports means, the physical exercise activity, which informs about the achievement, is continually linked to the physical exercise activity that informs another achievement. Achievements increase the probability of acceptance of communication proposals by providing comparability and linkability as a success-medium of sports. Moreover, the process makes the sport system operatively closed by being coded as superior/inferior performances.
