신자유주의에 따른 태권도장 교육관의 변화

본 연구는 최근 시대적 이데올로기인 신자유주의 시장경쟁체제에서 무도와 스포츠의 혼재된 현상이 가속되는 가운데 태권도장의 교육관의 변화와 특징을 이해함으로서 태권도의 올바른 교육방향을 제시할 수 있는 철학적 기틀을 모색하는데 있다. 이에 문화기술적 연구방법을 통해 수집된 자료를 분석하고 그 의미를 해석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 태권도장의 사설 학원화 경향이다. 태권도장은 이제 하나의 사교육기관이며, 운영자의 철학에는 신자유주의적 이데올로기인 시장경제원칙이 그 중심으로 자리 잡고 있다. 둘째, 경제성 원칙에 따른 프로그램의 변형이다. 시장경제성을 중요시하는 교육환경의 변화는 태권도장의 교육내용에 변화를 가져왔다. 태권도 수련시간과 내용의 감소를 감안하면서도 불구하고 다양한 놀이활동이나 학교의 보조체육활동 등으로 소비자의 욕구를 충족시키고 있다. 셋째, 태권도가 지닌 교육적 가치변화와 프로그램의 다양화이다. 최근 도장은 태권도의 전통적인 교육적 가치로서 인성발달을 위한 학습의 세부전략에서 여러 변화를 가져오고 있다. 마지막으로 태권도 교육관이 순수 무도중심의 교육관에서 신교육체제의 교육관으로 변화하고 있다. 태권도 교육관을 형성하는데 있어서 지도자의 의식은 시대적 환경변화와 이상적 교육관 간에 순응적 인식과 갈등의식이 혼재되어 있음을 발견할 수 있다. 이와 같이 현재 태권도장의 상업화 전략은 피할 수 없는 시대적 요구임을 더 이상 부정할 수 없지만, 이러한 변형과정에서 태권도 수련의 전통적인 교육적 가치와 특성이 고려되어야 할 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to understand educational philosophy of Taekwondo-jang that is mixed in martial arts and sports in Neoliberalism. The results of this study were as follows:1) Taekwondo Do-Jang is now one of private schools and there exists concepts of market economy in the owner's mind which is defined as ideology of Neoliberalism. 2) Programs are modified based on the principles of economy. Changes in educational environment according to the principles of economy caused changes in Taekwondo programs. Various play activities has been partially replaced regular Taekwondo training which are to meet the customers' demand. 3) Original value of Taekwondo education, character development has been strengthened to produce various programs. Finally, teaching philosophy of Taekwondo is changing its ground from pure martial art to a new teaching and learning trend. There the Taekwondo educators find themselves confused in the way they keep the balance between idealism and realism in educational environment. In conclusion, commercialization of Taekwondo-jang is undeniable demand of our time, therefore, we should not tend to emphasize negative outcomes of commercialization. We'd rather create more detailed and specialized culture of Taekwondo-jang. This advanced philosophy must include cultural traditional value of Taekwondo training.
