이 연구는 국내에서 2010년 전후 이래 꾸준히 확대되고 있는 댄스 리터러시에 관한 논의를 검토하여 난점을 드러냄으로써 추가의 과제를 제안하고자 하였다. 댄스 리터러시에 관한 다수 논의들은 주로 상호 연관된 의미, 논리 구조의 세 가지 논변에 근거한다. 그에 따르면 댄스 리터러시는 리터러시에 관한 다양화의 필요성을 반영하면서 대중화 즉 실생활 적용 가능성을 담보할 수 있는 문화예술로서 무용예술 교육의 근거이자 지향으로서 무용에 관한 총체적 자질 혹은 무용소양의 함양을 통해 구현된다. 세 가지 논변으로 뒷받침되는 댄스 리터러시 교육의 이론적, 실천적 정당화는 리터러시의 일반적 개념화에 비추어 볼 때 다음의 근본적이고 핵심적인 물음을 남긴다: 1) 삶의 측면이나 차원의 다양화에 부합하는 것인가, 2) 무용예술을 실생활에 밀착시키는 데 기여하는가, 3) 전반적인 생활기술, 학습능력에 통합되는가?
Abstract
This study attempted to suggest additional tasks by critically reviewing research papers on dance literacy. This research has been steadily expanding in Korea since approximately 2010. Discussions on dance literacy are mainly based on three arguments of interrelated meaning and logical structure. According to them, dance literacy education reflects the need for diversification of literacy and guarantees popularization, which is, applicability in real life, and is implemented through the cultivation of overall qualities on dance (dance literacy). The theoretical and practical justification of dance literacy education supported by three arguments leaves the following fundamental and core questions in light of the general conceptualizations of literacy: 1) Is it consistent with the diversification of aspects or dimensions of life, 2) does it contribute to bringing dance art into close contact with real life, 3) is it integrated into overall life skills and learning ability?
