노년기 독거여성의 삶에 관한 내러티브 분석: 리더십 실천하기

Abstract

This study aims to analyze narratives on the life of the older woman of solitude. This study is an idiographic approach to analyzing consciousness and attitudes as it appeared in the private experiences of ordinary lives. The oral statements and observation data were collected from a middle class old woman in Korea. Raw data were analyzed through the frame of content analysis with categories that Lieblich, Tuval-Mashiach, & Zilber(1998) applied. The main question of this study is two-fold. The first one is to clarify the central subject and the core categories of Mrs. J’s life. The second is to interpret the narratives of Mrs. J’s ordinary life and to find the meaning of Mrs. J’s life. The six core categories defined here are, to practice religious life, to enjoy life, to spread caring, to adjust flexibly, to have mercy, and to preserve health. The central subject converged is to practice leadership. Mrs. J’s dealing with lifelong regrets successfully transmuted ‘lives of loss’ to ‘those of calmness and restfulness.’ Sympathy․giving․thrift․moderation is the authentic meaning of life, which has turned up in her ordinary narratives. Stable spiritualities and positive emotions have come out in those. Also her life contains regularity, consistency, and sustainability, which are the criterion of character evaluation. The three factors as ownership, resilience, and health are the main powers of Mrs. J’s benevolent life.
