예장합동측의 여성강도권과 여성안수에 관한 신학적 분석과 현실적 대안

이 논문은 예장합동 교단의 여성강도권과 여성안수에 관해 논란이 되는 현실적인 이유들을 제시하고, 관련된 성경구절들을 신학적으로 분석을한 후에, 이 문제에 대한 현실적인 대안을 제시한다. 합동교단은 오랫동안여성 전도사들에게 주일학교에서 강도할 수 있도록 하였으나 남성 강도사와 같은 정도로 강도권을 부여하지는 않았다. 그 이유는 여자는 “교회에서 잠잠하라”는 구절(고전 13:34)과 “여자의 가르치는 것과 남자를 주관하지 못하리니”라는 구절(딤전 2:12), 그리고 감독과 장로는 한 아내의 남편이 되어야 한다는 구절(딤전 3:2; 딛 1:6) 때문이었다. 그러나 여성 사역자들이 성경에서 설교자로서 활동하였다는 주장들이 여러 신학자들에 의해 제기되었다. 그 예로 구약의 미리암, 드보라, 신약의 뵈뵈, 브리스길라, 유니아 등이다. 따라서 논자는 이런 구절들을 자세히 살펴보았으며, 나아가서 정부가 여성 군목을 모집하는 상황, 현재 여성들의 교육수준 향상, 여성들이 사역에 더 적합한 특수한 상황들을 고려하여 다음과 같이 결론지었다. 여성 전도사들에게 이미 주일학교에서 허용되는 강도권을 양성화하여, 강도사 고시에 합격한 여성 전도사들에게 강도사 인허를 받도록 허용하는 것이 현실적인 대안이다. 대신 남성 강도사는 준목으로 개칭하고 준목고시를 보게 하는 것이 좋을 것이다. 단지 여성목사 안수에 대해서는 반대되는 성경 본문들과 교단의 헌법규정에 근거하여 거부한다.
Abstract
This study examines debated practical issues regarding licensing women to preach and their ordination in the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Korea (GAPCK, Hapdong). It theologically analyzes pertinent biblical texts and offers a practical alternative suggestion to address current issues. Although the GAPCK has allowed female evangelists to preach in Sunday school, it has never licensed them to preach similarly to male evangelists or licensed preachers, which is mainly due to the application of biblical texts such as; “Women should remain silent in the churches” (1 Cor. 14:34), “I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man” (1 Tim. 2:12), and that the elder and the overseer should be “the husband of but one wife” (1 Tim. 3:2; Titus 1:6). However, some theologians maintain that the Bible recounts the existence of female ministers who worked as preachers such as Miriam and Debora in the Old Testament, and Phoebe, Priscilla, and Junia in the New Testament. This essay re-interprets such texts inlight of the present praxis; the Korean government’s policy of recruiting women chaplains, women’s high educational levels, and the current need for women’s ministry in some specific contexts. This article suggests that it is advisable to legitimize preaching for women evangelists who pass the qualification exam, since they have long been preaching in the tradition of the Korean Church. However, this study opposes women’s ordination based on biblical teachings and the denomination’s constitutional prohibitions.
