초록

이 글은 성혁명(sexual revolution)의 개념과 역사를 개관하고 사상적 차원에서 분석하고 비판하고자 한다. 뿐만 아니라 그에 대한 교회의 바른 대응으로서 성경적 인간관에 입각한 상호 동등한 남녀관계를 주장하고자 한다. 그러한 목적으로 기독교 내의 남녀관계에 대한 몇 몇 입장들을 살펴보면서 무엇이 성경에 일치하고 오늘의 시대적 상황의 요청에 부응하는지 따져 볼 것이다. 이글의 논지는 다음과 같다. 성평등과 성해방을 외치는 현대 사회 속에서 남성과 여성의 구별은 개인에 의해 주관적으로 정해지는 것이 아니라 창조주 하나님의 뜻에 따라 피조된 것임을 명확히 하되 사람을 남자와 여자로 창조하신 하나님의 뜻은 남녀가 부부로서 한몸(one flesh)의 연합을 이루어 생육하고 번성하는 복을 누리도록 하는 것과 남자와 여자 모두 동등하게 주신 은사대로 하나님의 피조계를 보살피고 다스리도록 하는 데에 있다는 것이다.

Abstract

This study is designed to present the definition and the history of the sexual revolution and to critically analyze its philosophical background. Besides, this study tries to argue for the equality between man and woman as the true biblical view and also maintain that the latter as the prerequisite for the church’s proper response to the former. For that purpose this paper investigates some positions on the relationship between man and woman within evangelical camp to find out which position fits to biblical teaching as well as to the current situation of the church. This paper will argue the following thesis statement. Contrary to transgenderism of the sexual revolution, the Christian view teaches that there are only two genders, male and female and that this distinction is not set by the human self or society but God the creator. God created human being male and female to be one flesh in marriage relationship and also to care and rule the world according to God’s will. To carry out this creation mandate there is no discrimination between man and woman.
