생태학적 정치신학에 관한 연구: 생태 위기 극복을 위한 그리스도인의 정치 참여

초록

오늘날 생태 위기는 팬데믹부터 기후 위기까지 다양한 양상으로 인류의 생존을 위협하고 있다. 이는 산업 혁명 이후 탄소 의존 사회에서 벗어나지 못하였던 근대 사회의 부정적인 결과이다. 근대 사회의 이념을 지탱하는 하나의 기둥인 파괴적인 자본주의는 탄소 의존 사회를 구축하였을뿐 아니라 서구 제국주의를 통해 생태 위기의 전 지구화를 촉진하였다. 또다른 기둥인 성장지상주의는 이성을 가진 존재로서 ‘나’의 인식을 왜곡시켜 자연과 여성에 대한 억압과 착취를 정당화하고 하나님을 경제 성장을위한 이데올로기적 도구로 전락시켰다. 하지만 과거 기독교는 이에 저항하기보다는 동조함으로써 탄소 의존 사회를 견인하였다. 그러므로 생태학적 정치신학은 새로운 사회·경제적 패러다임을 추구해야 한다. 물론 왜곡된 체제의 문제를 단번에 해결할 수 있는 단 하나의체제는 아직 등장하지 않았다. 이러한 상황 속에서 세상의 소금과 빛(마5:13-14)의 소명을 가진 그리스도인은 탈성장과 파괴적 자본주의의 해체, 생태 민주주의와 대안 경제 체제의 구축과 같은 새로운 패러다임을 통해탄소 중립 사회로의 길을 추구해야 한다. 특히 생태학적 정치신학은 생태민주주의의 구축에 집중해야 한다. 왜냐하면 오늘날 탄소 중립 사회의 실현은 생태 민주주의에 달려 있기 때문이다. 이를 위해 생태학적 정치신학은 생태 정책을 구체적으로 끌어낼 수 있어야 한다. 탄소세와 공유세와 같은 조세 제도의 개혁과 강력한 재생가능에너지 정책의 법제화 등은 그 대표적인 예다. 이제 생태학적 정치신학의남은 숙제는 생태 정책을 추진하기 위해 다양한 사회적 집단들과 연대해서 실천하는 생태 교회를 지원하고 발전시키는 것이다

Abstract

Today, ecological crises threaten the survival of mankind in various ways from pandemics to climate crises. This is a negative result of an modern society that has not been able to be free from a carbondependent society after the Industrial Revolution. The destructive capitalism, one of the pillars supporting the ideology of the modern society, not only built a carbon-dependent society, but also promoted the globalization of the ecological crisis through western imperialism. Another pillar, growth supremacy, justified the oppression and exploitation of nature and women and reduced God to an ideological means for economic growth by distorting the recognition of ‘I’ as a being with reason. However, Christianity in the past led a carbondependent society by sympathizing with it rather than resisting it. Therefore, from now on ecological-political theology must pursue a new socio-economic paradigm. Of course, the only single system that can solve the problem of the distorted system at once has not yet emerged. In this situation, Christians (Matthew 5:13-14) who have the vocation of salt and light in the world must move toward a carbon-neutral society through new paradigms such as degrowth and dissolution of destructive capitalism, ecological democracy and establishment of an alternative economic system. In particular, ecological-political theology should focus on the establishment of the ecological democracy. Because today, the realization of a carbonneutral society depends on the ecological democracy. To this end, ecological-political theology must be able to draw out ecological policy. Concretely, the reform of the tax system such as the carbon tax and the commons tax, and the strong enactment of a renewable energy policy are representative examples. Now, the remaining task of ecological-political theology is to support and develop an eco-church that works in solidarity with various social groups to make eco-policy a reality.
