중국인 학습자의 ‘-어 있다’ 습득 양상 연구

초록

이 논문은 한국어 모어 화자 23명과 고급 수준의 중국인 학습자 30명을 대상으로 ‘-어 있다’ 구성의 습득 양상을 7점 리커트 척도법에 의한 수용성 판단 과제를 통해 고찰하였다. 실험 재료는 ‘-어 있다’ 구성 39문장과 37문장의 채움 문장으로 구성하였으며 척도의 신뢰성을 향상시키고자 반응 점수를 표준화한 후 결과를 분석하였다. 실험 결과에 따르면 문법성 여부에 따른 ‘-어 있다’ 구성의 수용성 판단의 차이가 모어 화자 집단과 학습자 집단 간 차이가 통계적으로 유의하여 고급 수준의 학습자 집단이 여전히 한국인 모어 화자의 수준에는 육박하지 않은 것으로 결론지었다. 그러나 이는 전반적인 경향이었으며 일부 학습자의 경우에는 한국인 모어 화자에 준하는 수용성 판단을 보여 주어 ‘-어 있다’에 대한 궁극적인 습득에 도달한 것으로 분석할 수 있었다. 전이 효과에 관련하여서는 상적 의미에 관련하여서는 전이 효과가 나타나지 않았으나 타동사 제약에 있어서는 전이 효과가 나타난 것으로 해석하였다.

Abstract

While both Korean and Chinese have a grammatical form denoting the imperfective, the two forms, -e issta and zhe interact differently with the inherent semantics of the verb to which they attach. We investigate the effect of L1 transfer in the L2 acquisition of Korean resultative marker –e issta by adult Chinese learners, through a 7-point acceptability judgment task. The result shows that the L1 transfer effect is mixed: verbal lexico-semantic constraint on the construction is not transferred, while transitivity constraint is transferred. It is contra to the Interface Hypothesis, which was originally proposed by Sorace (2000) to explain the ultimate attainment in L2 acquisition
