이 연구는 대학생의 학술적 글쓰기 능력을 신장시키기 위하여 ‘구조문장을 활용한 대학 글쓰기 프로그램’을 개발하고 그 효과를 검증하였다. 이 프로그램의 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, ‘과정별 텍스트’ 개념을 도입하여 쓰기 과정 수행이 쓰기 결과 생산으로 직결될 수 있도록 하였다. 이를 통해 기존 과정 중심 교육의 한계로 지적되어 온 결과 경시의 오류 가능성을 최소화하였다. 둘째, 구조문장 작성 교육을 통해 학생들이 쓰기 전 단계에서 텍스트 전체의 의미구조를 생성하고 이를 개요로 구조화할 수 있도록 하였다. 셋째, ‘창안－선택－구성’에 의한 내용 생성 전략 교육을 통해 학생들이 의미 협상을 통한 의미 구성 방법을 습득할 수 있도록 하였다. 이상의 특징은 이 프로그램이 <쓰기 과정－쓰기 결과－사회적 맥락(담화 공동체)>의 요소를 동시적으로 고려하는 가운데 <교수자의 강의 및 피드백－조별 협동학습－개인별 글쓰기> 활동을 상호 연계할 수 있게 하는 토대가 된다. 이 프로그램의 효과를 검증한 결과, 이 프로그램이 대학생의 학술적 글쓰기 능력을 향상시키는 교육적 효과가 있음이 입증되었다. 특히 구성과 총점 부문에서 통계적으로 유의미한 결과가 도출되었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop the ‘college writing program using structure-sentence’ and examine the effect of it. This program intends to overcome the weakness of existing process-based writing program in the way of linking writing process with writing product. The traits of this program are following: First, this program invented the concept of ‘per-process text’ and uses it linking writing process with writing product. Second, this program introduces the process of writing a ‘structure-sentence’ which enables students to generate a macro-structure of the whole text before they begin to write their text. Finally, this program presents a new generating strategy that makes students construct the meaning in the way of negotiating various demands of ‘writer-text-audience'.
