기술투자 중소기업과 일반 중소기업의 재무성과 비교분석

본 연구는 2016년~2019년 투자용 기술평가 모형을 기반으로 TI1~TI6등급을 부여받은 기술투자 중소기업과 일반 중소기업의 평가 이후 3개년 재무성과(성장성․수익성)를 평가 모형 운영의 관점에서 사후적으로 비교․분석하였다. 이때, 성장성은 매출액 증가율, 수익성은 영업이익률로 정의하였으며, 성향점수매칭을 통해 기술투자 중소기업과 유사한 성향을 갖는 일반 중소기업을 선별하여 총 3,264개 중소기업이 분석에 사용되었다. 분석 결과 성장성(매출액 증가율)의 경우 평가연도 및 해당연도 이후 3개 시점과 평균 성장성 모두 기술투자 중소기업이 일반 중소기업에 비해 높으며 그 차이는 유의한 것으로 확인되었다. 그러나 수익성(영업이익률)의 경우 평가연도 및 해당연도 이후 3개 시점과 평균 수익성 모두 기술투자 중소기업과 일반 중소기업의 차이가 유의하지 않은 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 중소기업의 미래 성장성 예측을 목표로 설계․개발된 투자용 기술평가 모형은 사후적 관점에서도 적절하게 운영되고 있다는 결론을 도출하였다.
Abstract
This study is based on the technology appraisal for investment from 2016 to 2019, and after the appraisal of technology-invested SMEs (TI1~TI6) and general SMEs, the three-year financial performance (growth potential / profitability) was analyzed ex post from the perspective of operating an appraisal model. In terms of financial performance, growth potential was defined as the sales growth rate, and profitability was defined as the operating profit rate. Propensity score matching was used to select general SMEs similar to technology-invested SMEs, and a total of 3,264 SMEs were used in the analysis. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the growth potential (sales growth rate) of technology-invested SMEs was significantly higher than that of general SMEs in all three points in time and the average sales growth rate after the appraisal year. However, in the case of profitability (operating profit rate), it was confirmed that the difference between technology-invested SMEs and general SMEs was not significant at all three points in time and average operating profit rate after the appraisal year. Therefore, the conclusion was drawn that the technology appraisal model for investment, designed with the goal of predicting the future growth potential of SMEs, is being operated appropriately from an ex post perspective.
