귀암 황효공과 「역범도」

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine Gwiam(龜巖) Hyo-gong Hwang(黃孝恭, 1496~1553) and his writing 「Yeok- beomdo(易範圖)」. Gwiam was the first member of the Changwon Hwang clan of Yeongju and is known to have been a bureaucrat for 12 year history of bureaucracy as the liberal arts examination, and after returning to his hometown, he interacted with Toegye(退溪) and Ongye(溫溪) brothers, and left 「Yeokbeomdo」. But that's all we can find in his record. There is a book called 「Gwiam Ilgo(龜巖逸稿)」, but it was published three centuries later, and only a few articles have been included. It's not enough to look into his life. Referring to the records of those with whom he interacted, this research identified what kind of personal and academic exchanges he had conducted. His 「Yeokbeomdo」 also has an important meaning. This is because it not only achieved academic exchanges with Toegye, but also remained as an academic asset of the Toegye school(退溪學派). Measures were taken by Toegye to add corrections and postscripts, as well as being made into folding screens and kept in the Soseo Confucian Academy(紹修書院), and the meaning was reminded as it was used as an academic asset for the Toegye school, including Guiam Hyo-gong Hwang. It has more value than the explicit meaning that can be confirmed in the "Korean Large-scale Plan for Science of Divination."
