현대 교육의 표준화와 자본주의적 시민 주체의 형성: 들뢰즈와 가타리의 욕망론과 분열분석에 기반하여

초록

이 연구는 들뢰즈와 가타리의 욕망론과 분열분석을 활용하여 현대교육체제 형성에 큰 영향을 끼친 전세계적 교육 변화, 즉 냉전 시기 미국의 교육개혁과 UNESCO, OECD 등과 같은 국제기구의 등장, 그리고 PISA로 대표되는 교육정책 및 평가의 표준화 정립의 역사적‧정치적 맥락을 분석한다. 이를 통해, 교육의 표준화를 통한 현대교육체제의 정립 과정에서 이루어진 교육의 수치화‧경제화의 양상이 어떻게 욕망의 흐름을 특정한 방식으로 유도하여 경제적 성장과 부의 추구를 위해 존재와 삶의 미시적 영역에서 스스로를 끊임없이 변화시키는 자본주의적 시민 주체를 형성하는 사회적 역학을 생성시키는지 비판적으로 분석한다. 이 연구는 특히 교육의 표준화 정립의 역사적 맥락과 그 구체적 매커니즘이 자본주의적 공리계의 작동 방식, 즉 비표상적 잠재성의 영역에서 욕망의 흐름을 자본의 형식으로 탈코드화시켜 자본주의적 사회체에 새롭게 재영토화하는 방식과 일치한다는 점을 분석하였다. 이러한 분석은 지금까지 우리 존재와 삶의 모든 영역을 생성하는 욕망의 흐름을 통제하고 유도하여 자본주의적 사회구조와 이데올로기를 강화해온 자본주의적 통치성의 매커니즘을 교육사적 맥락에서 밝혔다는 점에서 교육학적 의의가 있을 것이다. 그리고 이러한 분석 결과는 궁극적으로 새로운 생산의 흐름이자 긍정적인 힘으로서의 욕망을 사유하는 길의 가능성을 고민함으로써, 자본주의적 공리계에 종속되지 않는 새로운 교육적 주체 형성의 가능성을 모색하기 위한 발판을 마련할 수 있을 것이다.

Abstract

This study explores the historical and political contexts of global educational transformation that have influenced the formation of contemporary education systems across the world. By employing Deleuze and Guattari's theory of desire and schizoanalysis, this study examines the ways in which the quantification and economization of education have generated social dynamics that shape citizens as capitalist subjects who constantly transform themselves to pursue economic growth and wealth. This study especially reveals how the standardization of education coincides with the ongoing dynamics of the capitalist axiomatic, which de- and re-codes the flows of desire through the socius that controls and manages capitalist society. This analysis uncovers the dynamics of capitalist governmentality that reinforces capitalist ideologies by controlling the flow of desire in a specific way(s). Engaging with desire as a positive force and productions, this study strives to pave pathways to educate citizens as subjects for our society that are not subordinated to the capitalist axiomatic.
