시간의 문제를 다뤄보고자 한 본 논고는 대강 두 부문으로 나눠볼 수 있다. 전반부는 서양의 주요시간론들 즉 아리스토텔레스, 아우구스티누스, 칸트, 하이데거 등의 경우를 필자 나름으로 이해, 개괄하고자 하였다. 이와 관련하여 시간론의 주요지표개념이라고 할 수 있는 인과의 문제, 시제의 의미에 대해서도 아울러 다루고자 하였다. 전반부가 시간에 대한 추상적 이론에 대한 추구였다고 한다면, 후반부는 시간에 대한 구체적인 측정도구라고 할 수 있는 역(曆)과 기계시계에 대해 살펴보았다. 특히 14세기 전반 서양에서 제작 보급되기 시작한 것으로 알려진 기계시계 및 공공(公共)시계의 보급, 발달 사정을 살펴봄으로써 인류의 시간관 내지 세계관의 변화양상을 개관하고자 하였다.
Abstract
It seems that we know the time well in our daily life. However, the definition of its concept is not so easy. As we know, various philosophical and scientific studies to understand time have made the many theories of it. The classical and representative theories among them might be those of Aristoteles and Augustinus. The former parts of this essay are to introduce the concepts of time such as Aristotle's, Augustinus's, Kant's and Hiddeger's. Especially the concept of time in Hiddeger's philosophy are interesting in regard to it possibility of similar inclination which Minkowski and Uexküll have, whereas Minkowski's concept of time is psychaiatric and Uexküll's is biological. The methods for measurement of time including calendar and clock have been developed since ancient times. Though this methods have become to calculate the time correctly, in other hand, the development of this method(especially like mechanical clock) made human kind estrange from nature. The human estrange from nature arise the new problem as such a awaking of self in modern times. Mainly, the latter parts of this essay is to know this proceedings.
