지역사회 노인의 건강정보이해력과 예측요인

초록

이 연구의 목적은 지역사회 노인을 대상으로 건강정보이해력이 어떠한지 파악하고 그 예측요인을 규명하는 것이다. 이를 위해 대전광역시, 세종특별자치시, 천안시에 소재한 노인종합복지관, 노인대학, 경로당 등의 협조를 받아 유의표집으로 65세 이상 노인 350명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였고 SPSS 26.0을 이용해 기술통계분석, t 검정, 일원분산분석, 상관관계분석, 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 조사대상 노인의 29.1%가 불충분한 건강정보이해력을 가진 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 건강정보이해력의 유의미한 예측요인은 가능 요인 중에서는 교육수준과 건강 관련 매체 활용이었는데 교육수준이 높을수록, 건강 관련 매체 활용을 많이 할수록 건강정보이해력이 유의미하게 높은 것으로 밝혀졌다. 셋째, 욕구 요인 중에서는 노인의 우울 수준이 유의미한 예측 요인으로, 우울 수준이 낮을수록 건강정보이해력이 유의미하게 높았다. 적지 않은 노인들이 불충분한 건강정보이해력을 갖고 있으며 교육수준, 건강 관련 매체 활용이라는 가능 요인과 노인우울과 같은 욕구 요인이 건강정보이해력에 의미 있는 영향을 미치고 있다는 분석결과에 기초하여 지역사회 노인의 건강정보이해력을 증진하기 위한 실천적 제언을 하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the health literacy of community dwelling elderly and its predicting factors. Data were collected from 350 persons aged 65+ with the cooperation of social service centers for the aged, education centers for the aged, and senior centers in Daejeon Metropolitan City, Sejong City, and Cheonan City. SPSS 26.0 software was used for descriptive analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis. The results showed that (1) the portion of elderly subjects who had insufficient health literacy was 29.1%; (2) education level and media utilization were significant predictors of health literacy of community dwelling elderly; (3) the lower depression score the elderly had, the higher their health literacy was. Based on the findings, practical suggestions to improve community dwelling elderly’s health literacy were discussed.
