Abstract
This study was conducted to identify the effects of risk perception for virus disaster like the COVID-19 on the tourism intention and the factors that may affect these relationships. For the study, the three hypotheses were established based on prior researches, and a total of 194 people were surveyed using Google's online questionnaire. The collected questionnaires were analyzed for frequency analysis, reliability and factor analysis, linear regression analysis, and logistic regression analysis using a SPSS 20.0. According to the findings, first, the risk perception for COVID-19 was shown to negatively affect the tourism intention. Second, the greater the risk, the lower the domestic tourism intention, but no impact on the overseas tourism intention. Third, for groups with low self-efficiency, the risk perception for COVID-19 was shown to have an negative effect on tourism intention, but not on groups with high self-efficiency. Thus, it is expected that the tourists' tourism intention will be restored only when awareness of the dangers of COVID-19 is lowered. Since the demand for domestic travel is continuous, efforts are needed to develop travel packages and programs in the form of staying for individual and family travelers who can feel that the self-effectiveness is great.
