Abstract

Therefore, emphasis is being placed on providing support decision-making that reflects the will and preferences of the people with the psychiatric disabilities during compulsory treatment. This study analyzed the current issues and limitations of the procedural assistance project, and attempted to derive future improvement through comparison with independent mental health advocacy of UK. In the independent mental health advocacy, the eligibility for service use includes compulsory hospitalization and community treatment order, and the notice the right to use is legal obligations and reflected in service evaluation. Service accessibility was improved by emphasizing the opt-out method, repeated confirm and records The training process for becoming an advocate was systematized, and the authority to meet users, attend meetings, and inquire records made it possible to actually defend rights. Based on the results, it was suggested to define the role of decision-making support for the protection of rights, ensure access to services as a right, and enhance the competence and empowerment of procedural assistant
