예비사회복지사의 직업 정체성 형성 과정의 재구성 -Schütze의 생애사 연구 방법으로

본 연구는 사회복지를 전공하는 학생들을 예비사회복지사로 명명하고 이들이 갖는 사회복지사라는 직업에 대한 주관적 인식과 어떠한 직업 정체성을 형성해 나가는지를 살펴보고 그 이면에 있는 숨겨진 의미를 재구성하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 사회복지를 전공하는 4학년 학생을 대상으로 슛제의 이야기식 인터뷰로 자료를 수집하였고 이를 다시 슛제의 4단계 이야기분석 방법으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 예비사회복지사들은 클라이언트가 배제된 실천의 개념을 갖고 있는 직업 정체성을 형성하고 있었으며, 이는 예비사회복지사들이 자신의 역할을 어떻게 인식하고 있는가와 긴밀하게 맞물리는 구조로 형성되는 개념임을 발견하였다. 둘째, 예비사회복지사들은 자격(과업) 중심적 정체성을 형성하고 있었는데 특별히 자격증 제도는 예비사회복지사에게 취업을 위한 조건으로 인식되면서 예비사회복지사들이 자격 중심적 정체성을 형성하는 주요 요인으로 작용하고 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 예비사회복지사들이 형성하는 직업정체성이 내포하고 있는 문제점들을 파악하고 그에 대한 대안을 제시하였다.
Abstract
In this study, students majoring in social welfare are referred to as prospective social workers. This study plans to examine the type of occupational identity these prospective social workers form, as well as the way they subjectively perceive their occupation as a social worker and also to reconstruct the underlying meaning of this perception. The interview was done by using the method of Fritz Schütze’s narrative interview and the collected data was analyzed by the four-step narrative analysis. The results from the reconstruction illustrated two problems. The first problem was that the prospective social workers were having a task centered identity and a mistaken concept of working without the interaction with the clients. The second problem found was that the certification system of social workers was recognized as a legal process that gives them a legal qualification to practice their skills as social workers rather than a process to seek the identity as social workers. so they were having a qualification centered identity. Hence, as an alternative solution, we propose a university program of analyzing cases in order to make the student recognize and understand their client.
