우울, 분노억제, 감정표현불능증 및 신체화의 구조적 관계

The Structural Relationship Between Depression, Anger-in, Alexithymia, and Somatization

초록

본 연구는 만 18세 이상의 일반 성인을 대상으로 하여 우울이 신체화에 미치는 영향을 확인하고 그 관계에서 정서 관련 변인인 분노억제, 감정표현불능증의 매개효과와 각 변인들 사이의 경로를 검증하는 것에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 선행연구를 참고하여 구조모형을 설정하고, 모형의 적합도 지수와 변인들 간의 구조적 관계를 살펴보았다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 우울은 신체화에 직접적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 우울의 정도에 따라 신체화 증상이 심화될 수 있다는 것을 의미한다. 둘째, 우울은 분노억제에 직접적인 영향을 미쳤으나 분노억제는 신체화에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 우울과 신체화의 관계에서 분노억제가 매개하지 않는 것으로 설명할 수 있다. 이는 분노를 억제하는 것이 다른 문화에 비해 덜 부적응적인 집단주의 문화권에 속하는 한국인들의 특성이라고 설명할 수 있을 것으로 보인다. 셋째, 우울과 신체화의 관계에서 감정표현불능증이 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 우울은 분노억제와 감정표현불능증을 거쳐 신체화에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과에 대해 논의 및 제언점을 제시하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to check the effect of depression on somatization in adults over the age of 18 and to verify the mediated effects of emotion related variables such as anger-in and alexithymia in the relationship and the path between each variable. To this end, the structural model was set up by referring to the precedent studies and the structural relationship between the modality index and the variables of the model was examined. The results of the study were as follow. First, depression had been shown to have a direct significant effect on somatization. This suggest that the somatization symptom may be worsen depending on the level of depression. Second, depression had a direct effect on anger-in, but anger-in was found to have no significant effect on somatization. In other words, anger-in does not mediate in the relationship between depression and somatization. And it can be explained that anger-in is the Korean characteristic of collectivism society that is less maladpative than other cultures. Third, the relationship between depression and somatization had been shown to be mediated by alexithymia. Fourth, depression had been shown to affect somatization through anger-in and alexithymia. Based on the results, the implications and suggestions for the study results were discussed.
