본 연구에서는 초등학생이 지각한 폭력노출 경험, 부부 갈등, 가족 기능과 영적 안녕이 공격성에 미치는 영향력을 확인하고, 영적 안녕의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 충남 C시에 소재한 초등학생 553명(남 273명, 여 280명)을 대상으로 연구한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 폭력노출 경험은 초등학생의 신체적․언어적․수동적․회피적 공격성에 가장 많은 설명력을 갖는 직접적인 변인으로 확인되었다. 부부 갈등은 폭력노출 경험이 공격성에 미치는 직접적인 영향력보다는 작지만 신체적․언어적․수동적․회피적 공격성에 각각 직접적인 영향을 미치고, 종교적 영성을 통한 간접적인 영향도 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 가족 기능은 언어적․수동적․회피적 공격성에 대해서만 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 영적 안녕의 하위요인 중 종교적 영성만이 폭력노출 경험 및 부부 갈등과 공격성(신체적․언어적․수동적․회피적)간의 관계를 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 실존적 영성은 가족기능의 직접적인 영향을 받지만 공격성과의 관계에서 유의한 매개효과는 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구는 초등학생의 공격성에 영향을 미치는 폭력노출 경험 변인의 중요성을 확인함으로써 공격성에 대한 사회학습이론의 입장을 확인하였으며, 최근 그 중요성이 새로이 부각되고 있는 영적 안녕의 매개효과를 확인함으로써 공격적 행동에 대한 상담적 접근에 필요한 긍정적 요소를 확인하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of explosure to violence, marital conflicts, and family functioning on aggression in elementary students and mediating effect of spirituality well-being. A total of 553 elementary students(male 273, female 280) were surveyed. The major findings of the study were as follows: First, explosure to violence was the most influential on aggression in elementary students. And aggression was affected by marital conflicts and family functioning. Second, the mediating effect of religion spirituality between explosure to violence and aggression was shown. And shown to the mediator role in marital conflict and aggression. Existencial spirituality was affected by family functioning. This results implies that spirituality well-being may buffer the negative effects from the risk factors on family functioning, marital conflict and explosure to violence.
