본 연구는 청소년을 둘러싸고 있는 환경요인인 친구, 교사, 가족의 사회적 지지가 개인요인인 자아존중감과 어떻게 상호작용하여 청소년의 외로움에 영향을 미치는가를 한 모델 안에서 통합적으로 규명하여, 교육현장 및 상담현장에서 청소년을 이해하는데 활용될 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구결과 첫째, 남학생과 여학생 모두 친구지지와 가족지지 및 교사지지는 자아존중감을 높여 정서적 외로움과 사회적 외로움을 감소시키는 요인이었다. 남학생의 경우는 가족지지가 정서적 외로움과 사회적 외로움에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않는 반면, 여학생의 경우는 가족지지가 정서적 외로움과 사회적 외로움을 감소시켜주는 중요한 요인이었다. 둘째, 인문계 고등학생의 경우는 교사지지가 자아존중감을 높여 정서적 외로움과 사회적 외로움을 감소시키는데 중요한 요인이었으나, 실업계 고등학생의 경우는 교사지지가 자아존중감과 정서적 외로움 및 사회적 외로움에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 성과 학교유형에 상관없이 친구지지가 청소년의 정서적 외로움과 사회적 외로움을 감소시키는데 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 사회적 지지와 자아존중감이 청소년의 외로움에 미치는 영향력이 청소년의 성과 학교유형에 따라 다른 것으로 나타나 이론적 모델을 독립적으로 분석한 것에 대한 타당성을 입증해 주었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of social support and self-esteem on adolescents' loneliness according to their gender and school types. The theoretical model was specified and estimated. Subjects of this study consisted of 808 adolescents drawn from 4 academic high schools and 4 vocational high schools in Chungbuk province. The pilot study was used to examine the applicability of survey instrument. The test of the model was carried out with analysis of correlational matrix in LISREL Ⅷ package using a maximum likelihood estimation. The theoretical model proposed was supported by the data and fitted adequately. The result of this study implies that the effect of social support on adolescents' emotional and social loneliness mediated by self-esteem is practically different according to adolescents' gender and school type.
