대학생 연인관계 유형에 따른 군집분석과 남녀 비교

Comparison of love relationship type by gender using model-based clustering

본 연구는 대학생의 연인관계 유형에 따른 군집분석을 실시하고, 남녀 각각의 군집결과의 특성을 살펴보아 상담자들에게 연인관계 군집의 특성을 제공하고자 시행되었다. 연구대상은 서울시내 소재 대학생 508명(남자 201명, 여자 303명, 무응답 4명)이었으며, 대학생 연인관계 유형검사(정여주, 두경희, 김창대, 2011)와 사랑스타일 검사(Hendrick & Hendrick, 1986), 연인관계와 관련된 정보 질문지를 실시하였다. Finite mixture model에 기반을 둔 군집분석을 실시한 결과, 남녀 각각 세 그룹이 도출되었다. 남학생 그룹1은 안개형이 높고, 산만형, 군림형이 낮은 그룹이었으며, Agape 점수가 높고, Ludus 점수가 낮으며, 연애회수가 다른 그룹에 비해 적은 특징을 보였다. 남학생 그룹2는 산만형과 Ludus 점수가 높았으며, 남학생 그룹3은 껍질형, 난장이형, 산만형 점수가 낮은 그룹이었다. 여학생의 경우, 그룹1은 전반적으로 점수가 낮으면서 안개형과 군림형 점수가 특히 낮고, Ludus와 Agape 점수가 낮은 특징을 보였으며, 그룹2는 산만형, 군림형 점수가 높고, Ludus 점수가 높으며, 연애회수가 다른 그룹에 비해 유의하게 많았다. 마지막으로 여학생 그룹3은 안개형, 난장이형, 군림형이 높으며, Pragma와 Mania의 점수가 높게 나왔다. 이러한 연구결과는 앞으로 상담자들이 연애와 관련된 상담을 진행할 때, 대학생들의 연인관계 군집별 특징에 대해 이해하도록 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to classify university students into a few groups based on the love relationship scales and to examine the difference of group characteristics between male and female students. Chung, Du & Kim (2011) collected data from 508 university students (201 males, 303 females, and 4 nonresponses) about love relationship scale (Chung, Du & Kim, 2011) and love style scale (Hendrick & Hendrick, 1996). Using this data, we grouped the male and female students into 3 clusters separately using model-based clustering method. For males, the students in Group 1 tend to have higher fog style scores and lower compression and reigning style scores than the other groups. They also have higher Agape and lower Ludus scores, and the number of relationship is lower than the others. Group 2 has higher compression and Ludus scores and Group 3 has lower bark, dwarf, and compression scores. For females, Group 1 shows lower love relationship scores overall, having particularly small fog and reigning scores with small Ludus and Agape scores. The students in Group 2, who have comparably larger number of relationships, score highly for compression, reigning, and Ludus. Group 3 students have higher fog, dwarf, reigning, Pragman, and Mania scores. This study will help counselors understand problems of university students based on their love relationship types and provide appropriate services depending on their needs.
