본 연구는 진로 목표를 결정하고 대학에 입학한 학생들의 진로 재탐색-재결정 과정을 분석하였다. 대학생 10명을 대상으로 근거이론 방법으로 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 개방코딩 결과 총 25개 상위범주와 73개의 개념을 도출하였다. 또한 인과적 조건, 중심 현상, 맥락적 조건, 중재적 조건, 작용/상호작용 전략과 결과의 범주 구조로 패러다임 모형을 구성하였다. 범주 간의 연결을 통해 패러다임 모형과 진로 재탐색-재결정 과정을 도출하고 진로 경로를 탐색하는 과정에서의 혼란과 의심이라는 중심현상을 확인하였다. 결과적으로 진로 재탐색-재결성 과정은 진로 목표에 대한 자기결정성 정도의 변화라고 할 수 있다. 개인의 진로 재탐색-재결정 과정은 혼란-유지 또는 포기-재탐색-재결정-결정 내면화의 과정을 거친 것을 알 수 있다. 개인 간의 변화 흐름은 초기 진로 목표 유지, 초기 진로 목표 범위 내에서의 세부적 수정, 새로운 진로 목표 설정 세 가지 형태로 변화한 것을 알 수 있다. 마지막으로 연구 참여자의 사전-사후 CDDQ 검사 결과를 비교함으로써 그 변화를 알아보았다. 또한 연구의 한계점 및 후속연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore the process of career re-exploring and re-decision making process of Korean college students. In this study, the career re-exploring and re-decision making process was analyzed with ten college students who decided on their career goal before they became college students. The interview data was analyzed according to the grounded theory approach. The result of open coding shows 25 categories and following 73 subordinate concepts. A paradigm model consists of the causal conditions, phenomena, context conditions, intervening conditions, action/interaction and consequences; the relationship among these categories were found through axial coding. Also, the central phenomenon drew a disorientation on career path in the paradigm. As the results, career re-exploring and re-decision making process was the process of the self-determination change. Given the paradigm model, the participants were assumed to experience the five stages in a career determination process: confusion, maintenance or renunciation, re-exploring, re-decision, internalization of the re-decision making. Based on the result, the participants were grouped by three types: the first is career goal maintenance type, the second is career goal modifying type and the last is new career goal setting type. Lastly, through comparing the results of the pre-test and post-test of CDDQ, this study explores the change in participants’ career decision-making difficulties. The contribution and limitations of the current study are further discussed.
