청소년 거주형 치료프로그램의 치료적 요인 및 변화 결과 분석

이 연구에서는 정서․행동문제로 거주형 치료프로그램에 참여한 청소년들의 변화에 영향을 주는 요인 및 변화의 결과를 심층적으로 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 거주형 치료프로그램의 장기과정 참여자 중 8명을 이론적 표본추출 방법으로 선정하여 반구조화 형태의 개인면접을 프로그램 참여 기간 내 총 5회에 걸쳐 진행하였다. 수집된 인터뷰 자료는 전사한 후 근거이론을 토대로 분석하고 이론화 작업을 하였으며 전문가 2인 및 연구참여자 2인. 생활돌봄교사 1인의 피드백을 통해 타당성을 평정하였다. 분석 결과, 프로그램 참여자의 변화에 도움이 되는 요인은 선호활동이 가능한 환경, 기본적인 생활관리, 공동체 생활규칙, 타 입교생과의 관계, 개인 특성에 맞는 활동프로그램, 상담, 교사의 돌봄으로 나타났다. 프로그램 참여자의 변화는 개인 생활관리 향상, 자발적인 감정 조절능력 향상, 자신과 타인 이해 및 긍정적 사고, 폭력 행동 감소, 진로 및 학업 성취, 장래에 대한 계획 등이었다. 연구결과를 토대로 시사점을 논의하고 후속 연구를 제안하였다.
Abstract
This study explored in depth the therapeutic factors that affect the changes and the consequences of change of youth who participated in a residential treatment program for emotional and behavioral problems. To this end, eight of adolescents who joined a long term course were selected on the basis of a theoretical sampling method, and the semi-structured personal interview was conducted 5 times during the program. The interview data was recorded, transcribed, analyzed, and theorized using a grounded theory approach. The data was then examined through a combination of 2 experts’ 2 participants’ and a daily care teacher’s feedback. As a result of an analysis, the following factors were found to facilitate healthy development of youth participants: 1) facilities for preferred activities; 2) basic life management; 3) daily life management; 4) relations with other youth in the program; 5) personalized activity programs; 6) counseling; and 7) care of program-staff. Consequent changes were as follows: 1) improvement in life management skills; 2) improvement in emotional self-regulation abilities; 3) increased understanding and positive thinking of oneself and others; 4) decrease in aggressive behaviors; 5) career and school achievements; and 6) planning for the future. Implications and limitations of the current study are discussed. Suggestions for future research are described.
