가정결손 여부가 저소득 가정 아동의 사회성에 미치는 영향 : 사회적 지지 및 사회적 지능의 매개효과를 중심으로

본 연구는 저소득 가정 아동의 사회성에 초점을 맞추어, 보호요소인 사회적 지지 및 사회적 지능을 매개로 한 가정결손 여부와 아동의 사회성 간의 경로모형을 구성하고, 그 타당성을 검증해 보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울과 경기지역 복지관에서 서비스를 받고 있는 저소득 가정 아동 90명으로 선정하였다. 아동의 사회성 측정을 위해 교사 질문지를 사용했고, 아동 자신이 지각한 사회적 지지를 알아보기 위해 자기보고식 질문지를 실시했으며, 아동의 사회적 지능 측정을 위해 개인용 지능검사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 결손여부에 따른 사회적 지지, 사회적 지능 및 사회성의 차이를 살펴보았고, 사회성에 영향을 주는 위험요소의 영향력과 보호요소의 매개효과를 살펴보기 위해 구조방정식 모형을 설정하고 경로분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 결손가정 아동은 자신의 사회적 지지를 부정적으로 지각하였고, 차례맞추기 소검사에 따른 사회적 지능은 낮았으며, 교사들은 이들의 사회성을 낮게 평가하였다. 또한 결손여부, 사회적 지지와 사회적 지능은 사회성과 유의한 상관을 보였다. 이에 더해, 결손여부와 사회성의 관계에서 사회적 지지와 사회적 지능의 매개효과는 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 연구자가 저소득 가정 아동의 사회성에 대해 가설을 세운 경로모형이 지지되었다. 이는, 결손가정이라는 위험요소에 처한 저소득 가정 아동이라도 친구, 가족, 교사의 지지가 적절하고, 사회적 지능이 양호하면 사회에 적응하고 상호작용하는 사회성의 보호요소가 된다는 새로운 시각을 제공하고 있다.
Abstract
Mainly focused on the children from the low income families, this research constructed a model between children's social skills and family deficiencies-defined as the risk factor- with social support and social intelligence -defined as the protective factors- as the mediators. Ninety elementary students from low income families, who attends local welfare facilities around Seoul and Kyung-gi district, were chosen to carry out such purpose. This research conducted surveys on teachers to examine children's social skills. It used self surveys on the children to investigate their social support and executed the WISC-R to figure out their social intelligence. This research also analyzed the relationships between the intrinsic variables of social skills to find out the influence of the risk factor and the mediating effect of the protective factor. The results are the followings: 1) Children from families have deficiency have more negative perception on social support, lower social intelligence, and lower social skills. 2) Children's social support, their social intelligence, and types of deficiency in their families were highly related to the children's social skills. 4) In the relationship between children's family deficiencies and their social skills, the mediating effect of the children's social support and their social intelligence is proven to be influential. In Conclusion, the researcher's hypothesized Path-Model for a child's social skills was proved to be true. Therefore, this study provides the new perspective that the children from low income and deficient families do not lack social skills like adaptation ability if friends, family, and teacher supports them and if they possess enough social intelligence.
