본 논문은 인간의 한계상황들, 즉 죽음, 죄, 투쟁, 우연, 고통 중에서도 가장 근원적이고 본질적인 한계상황에 해당하는 ‘고통’의 문제를 직접적으로 다루는 실존철학적 논의를 철학상담에 접목시켜 철학상담의 새로운 방법론을 모색해 보는 데 일차적 목표를 둔다. 이를 위해 본 논문은 우선 실존철학에서 다루고 있는 ‘고통’이라는 개념이 본질적으로 무엇이며, 왜 고통이 인간의 근본상황이자 한계상황인지에 대한 논의를 야스퍼스(K. Japers)와 마르셀(G. Marcel)의 고통에 관한 논의를 중심으로 전개시켜 나가고, 이어서 실존철학에서분석하거나 혹은 조명하고 있는 실존의 본질적 구조에 대해 살펴볼 것이다. 그리고 마지막으로 이러한 논의를 바탕으로 고통을 극복하기 위한 철학상담의 실존철학적 방법의 가능성을 모색해 보고자 한다.
Abstract
This paper has the primary goal of grafting the discussion of existential philosophy in philosophical counseling to directly deal with the problem the most fundamental and intrinsic situation of ‘suffering’ in a boundary situation that we experience (death, sin, struggle, coincidence, pain, etc) in order to seek a new methodology of philosophical counseling. This paper will first deal with the concept of ‘suffering’ that exists in existential philosophy and what it really is, the discussion of why suffering is considered a general situation, as well as a boundary situation is by looking into K. Jaspers and G. Marcel’s discussion regarding suffering as a central pivotal point, and thus dissect existential philosophy or examine the intrinsic structure of existence. Finally, the paper will be seeking the chance of philosophical counseling in order to overcome suffering, using this discussion as the foundation of the argument.
