4차 산업혁명을 둘러싼 담론이 오늘날 뜨겁다. 과학기술 분야만이 아니라 공 공 부문도 또한 인문학 분야도 4차 산업혁명 담론에 나서고 있다. 이 논문은 산업혁명을 바라보는 인문학의 관점은 어떻게 설정되는 것이 적절한지를 인간 역사의 진행, 관련 자료의 고찰 등으로 규명함을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 본론에서의 논의는 ‘4차 산업혁명 앞에 선 우리 역사’, ‘역사의 두 장면: 고대 아테네와 18세기말 이중혁명’, ‘전문가 담론과 공론장 담론’이라 는 제목으로 구성되어 있다. 먼저 산업혁명을 대하는 우리 역사의 눈으로 보면 4차 산업혁명은 그저 인공지능 등으로만 다가올 수 없다고 밝힌다. 이어서 고 대 아테네에서의 시민, 자유, 민주 이념의 등장, 이어지는 오랜 망각 그리고 18 세기말부터의 부활이라는 역사 진행을 떠올리며 산업혁명을 역사, 인문학으로 바라보는 작업이 필요하다고 지적한다. 아울러 전문가가 주도하는 담론에 대한 근본적 검토가 있어야 한다고 밝힌다. 이러한 논의를 통하여, 산업혁명에 따른 인문학의 눈을 작동시킬 것이 아니라 산업혁명을 인간 역사의 진행에서 바라보 는 인문학의 눈이 필요함이 드러난다. 아울러 해석학적 순환 개념에 기초하여 4차 산업혁명에 대한 인문학적 접근의 유의미한 관점을 제시하고자 한다.
Abstract
The discourse surrounding the Fourth Industrial Revolution is hot today. Not only science and technology but also public sector and humanities are taking part in the fourth industrial revolution. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the appropriateness of how to set the viewpoint of the humanities in the industrial revolution by examining progress of human history and relevant data. To this end, the discussion is divided into three parts: 'Our History in front of the Fourth Industrial Revolution', 'Two Scenes in History: Ancient Athens and the Double Revolution in the End of the 18th Century', and 'Discourse on Expert and Public Sphere'. First, from the perspective of our history of industrial revolution, the Fourth Industrial Revolution can not come only by artificial intelligence etc. I think that it is necessary to look at the industrial revolution as history and humanities by recalling the history of civilization, liberty, democracy in ancient Athens, long-forgotten obsession and resurrection from the end of the 18th century. And that there should be a fundamental review of expert-led discourse. Through these discussions, it is revealed that humanist eyes need to look at the development of industrial revolution in the course of human history, not to activate the eyes of humanities according to industrial revolution. In addition, we will present a meaningful view of the humanistic approach to the fourth Industrial Revolution based on the concept of hermeneutic circulation.
