하이데거의 기술철학에서 본 질적 연구의 기법화 경향

하이데거의 기술철학은 현대 기술의 본질에 대한 존재론적 물음이며 그것의 세계구성 방식에 관한 것으로, 이를 기초로 질적 연구의 기법화 현상을 살펴 볼 때 독특한 존재망각 현상과 표상적 확실성에 대한 열망을 파악할 수 있다. 특히 하이데거의 4중 인과율에 대한 분석에 비추어 볼 때, 연구 기법에 과도하 게 의존하는 연구자의 태도는 질적 연구가 참여자 세계와 연구 상황, 연구자의 존재에 서로 책임을 지는 ‘공속적 탈은폐’의 작업임을 간과하고, 각 연구 현장 의 고유한 특성을 탈맥락화하는 무책임한 태도로 해석된다. 현대 기술의 본질 이 세계와 인간을 부품으로 몰아세우고 세계를 에너지 저장고로 탈은폐하듯이, 질적 연구의 이러한 기법화 경향 또한 인간 생활세계의 면면을 그 고유함에 대 한 섬세한 배려 없이 도발적 요구로 닦달하는 태도이다. 그 결과 연구자와 연 구참여자는 도구적 이성의 거대한 수레바퀴를 돌리는 기술자이자 부품이 된다. 불확실성의 해석학인 질적 연구는 연구자가 불확실성과 모호함 속에서 복잡 하고 다양한 국면에 융통적으로 대처하며 물음과 사유의 시숙을 꾀하는 작업이 다. 하이데거가 제안한 수동적 사유의 철학은 질적 연구의 특징인 시숙성을 특 징적으로 일깨워준다. 연구자는 참여적 자세로 연구참여자의 경험에 함께할 뿐 만 아니라, 삼가고 물러나 기다리는 초연한 내맡김의 자세를 배울 필요가 있다. 이를 통해 그는 현대 기술적 논리가 지닌 닦달의 위험으로부터 생활세계의 고 유한 의미를 보호하고 보존하여 존재의 진리에로 귀향하는 법을 깨닫게 되기 때문이다.
Abstract
Analyzing the research technique-oriented attitude among qualitative researchers from the perspectives of Heidegger’s philosophy on modern technology, we can identity the phenomena of Being-forgetfullness and representational constitution of the world. Especially Heidegger’s analysis of four-fold causality awakens us to the problem of researchers’ over-dependence on research techniques, which is nothing but technological and irresponsible attitude towards the unique and delicate natures of human lifeworld. For it decontextualizes the inter-dependent relationship, i.e.‘co-responsibility by belonging together’, among research participants, researchers, and research situations. As the essence of modern technology lies in its unconcealment of the human beings and the world as the standing-reserve(‘Bestand’) filled with natural energy, such technological rationality enframes(Ge-stell) a researcher to challenge-forth the human lifeworld into the standing-reserve of raw knowledge. Researcher in this context also enframes oneself to be a research technician. Qualitative research as hermeneutics of uncertainty is the process of gradually bringing the temporality of researcher’s Being into maturation through encountering the truth occurring during the research process. She needs to thoroughly live through every moment of ambiguity and complexity in doing a research. With the humble attitude of active passivity, Gelassenheit,, she would be able to learn how to make a fundamental turning toward the truth of Being and Becoming. This implies that a qualitative researcher should approach the participants’lifeworld by participating together in their experience, as well as by stepping back and waiting for what the things eventually reveal as meaningful truth.
