Abstract
In this article, I discuss the so-called "Heidegger Case", which gained attention after the publication of Heidegger's Black Notebooks. Beyond the positions that researchers have taken concerning Heidegger's discriminatory remarks revealed in his notebooks, I use this controversy as an opportunity to reconsider his fundamental ontology - that is to say, his value-neutral “original ethics” (die ursprüngliche Ethik), from a normative ethical approach. For this purpose, I focus on the ontological framework of the everyday world's “the they” (das Man), who is “proximally and for the most part” (zunächst und zumeist) inclined to confuse “solicitude” (Fürsorge) with “concern” (Besorge). I explicate this framework with the negative pole of solicitude that Heidegger already indicated. I then consider it as an “existentiale” (Existenzial) that I label Upsinyeogim, which is a phenomenological framework of “being-with” (Mitsein) that treats others as things and annuls reciprocal existentiality, resulting in Dasein's loss of ontological “priority” (Vorrang) for the fundamental ontology. Thus, Upsinyeogim discloses the ethical ought, which is differentiated from original ethics or ontic normative ethics. Through this, I propose an ontological normative ethics by which Heidegger's fundamental ontology maintains its validity, while at the same time seeing an inevitable ethical judgment against Heidegger's own discriminatory comments in his Black Notebooks as the tendency toward Upsinyeogim.
