Abstract

The March First Movement Chungbuk province was developed for over fifty days in the Independent Harrish Movement from on March 2 in Cheongju to April 20 in Danyang, 1919. The Movement was developed the best activity for ten days from on March 30 to April 8. And The Movement was developed more than 165 times and 215 places, participated more than 64,540 persons on the whole. The Japanese imperialsm oppressed the Movement. They used the law enforcement authority of the MP and police and the infantry of the 80 regiment in Daejeon. And they placed the party of an MP and supple-MP member and the six infantry battalion from Japan in Cheongju and Yeongi Chunnam. The military did the armed demonstration and overawed the general persons. The administrative organ of Chongdokbu pressed in the all order of a previous prevention and appeasement policy. Specially, the more than 75 perasons died a martyr for his country, the more than 68 persons injured and the more than 544 persons arrested. And the 189 persons suffered in prison and the patriotic martyrdom occurred. The March First Movement Chungbuk province had mainly been led by the young aged between 20 and 30 years old, developed the diverse form of the Independent Harrish Movement and the diverse place, appeared an example of the continuous Independent Harrish, and chastised the The Japanese imperialsm in the diverse form.
