이 글은 동화에 나타난 아버지의 권위주의와 어린이의 인권 문제를 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 역사적으로 가족 내에서 아버지의 권위주의는 어떤 과정을 통해 변모해 왔는지, 아버지의 권위주의가 해체되는 과정에서 가족 관계는 어떻게 변화했는지, 그리고 아버지의 권위주의 해체 과정에서 어린이의 인권은 어떻게 변화했는지 등을 논의하였다. 논의 결과, 동화에 나타난 아버지의 모습은 권위주의를 강하게 가지면서 어린이를 주눅 들게 만들어 어린이의 성장을 방해하는 아버지, 권위주의 해체로 어린이의 성장에 도움을 주는 아버지 등으로 나뉘었다. 권위적인 태도로 어린이의 성장을 방해하는 아버지의 모습은 이주홍의 「미옥이」, 이영호의 「보이나 아저씨」, 김중미의 「희망」 등을 통해 확인되었다. 권위주의 해체로 어린이의 성장에 도움을 주는 아버지의 모습은 이상교의 「아버지와 비둘기」, 정성란의 「마실 가신 아버지」, 이미례의 「돌멩이와 솔방울」 등을 통해 확인되었다. 이 글은 어린이의 성장을 위해서는 친밀성에 의한 아버지와 어린이의 관계가 설정되어야 함을 강조하였다. 권위주의가 아닌, 친밀성에 의해 어린이와 소통하고 어린이를 존중하는 아버지의 존재성이 새롭게 강조될 때, 어린이는 성숙을 지향하는 존재로서 아버지라는 스승을 통해 올바른 사회화와 성숙을 도모할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This article explored the authoritarianism of the father and the human rights issues of children in fairy tales. we have discussed how the father’s authoritarianism has historically changed in the family, how the family relationship changed in the process of dismantling father’s authoritarianism, and how children’s human rights changed in the process of dismantling father’s authoritarianism. As a result of the discussion, the father’s appearance in the fairy tale was divided into two parts, a father who had strong authoritarianism and discouraged children and a father who hindered children’s growth by dismantling authoritarianism. The appearance of the father who interferes with the growth of the child with an authoritative attitude was confirmed through Lee Joo-hong’s Miok-i, Lee Young-ho’s Uncle Boyna, and Kim Joong-mi’s Hope. The appearance of a father who helps children grow due to the dissolution of authoritarianism was confirmed through Lee Sang-kyo’s Father and Pigeon, Jung Sung-ran’s Father Gone to Drink, and Lee Mi-rye’s Stone and Pine cones. This article emphasized that the relationship between father and child by intimacy should be established for the growth of children in today’s situation. When the existence of fathers who communicate with children and respect children is newly emphasized by intimacy, not authoritarianism, children will be able to promote proper socialization and maturity through the teacher of fathers as immature but mature beings.
