炯庵 李德懋는 품은 뜻은 크고 재주는 뛰어났으나 출신이 천한 관계로 특히 出仕 이전 내심으로 비감에 젖어 있었고 가끔은 屈騷를 읊는 것으로 서글픔을 달래고자 했다. 그런 관계로 형암의 詩文에는 屈騷 요소가 적지 않게 산견되는바 비교문학 영향연구의 방법으로 양자의 관련성을 다루는 작업이 필요하다고 사료된다. 본고는 형암의 屈騷觀을 비롯하여 그의 詩文에서의 굴소 수용 양상을 고찰하되 형암의 인격과 그의 문학을 이해하는데 도움을 주고자 했다. 형암은「鳴蟬賦」와「橘頌」에서 “蘇世獨立”의 인격과 “不染”의 맑은 자질을 수용하여 號를 삼았다. 초사를 향기 넘치는 아름다운 글로 인식, 즐겨 읽어 심신을 수양하고자 했다. 경우에 따라 일부 초사작품의 부동한 심미효과를 감지했다. 「天問」를 이중으로 평가했고, 忠憤을 인정하면서도 「懷沙」를 지나친 충성으로 보았다. 시는 주로 그와 他人이 초사에 경도되어 초사를 읊는 모습을 그렸다. 이는 고결한 인격을 지향하고, 동병상련의 수심을 해소하기 위한 방편으로 보인다. 형암의 경우 초사를 典故로 많이 이용한 특징이 드러나고, 초사 요소를 변용한 사례도 발견된다.
Abstract
Hyeongam(炯菴) Lee Deok-mu(李德懋) was an ambitious and talented, as well as virtuous man. Due to his low birth, especially before his entrance on the official career, he felt sorrow secretly and tried to divert his mind from grief by reciting Chu Yuan's Cho-sa(屈騷) at times. For that reason, the elements of Chu Yuan's Cho-sa(屈騷) appear in various in Hyeongam(炯菴)'s literary works(詩文). This paper is intended to be a help to understanding Hyeongam's personality and his literature by researching on Hyeongam(炯菴)'s view of Chu Yuan's Cho-sa(屈騷觀), as well as receptive aspects of Chu Yuan's Cho-sa in his literary works(詩文). Hyeongam made his pen name by accepting personality of "Independent in the world and stay awake(蘇世獨立)" and pure endowments of "Integrity(不染)" from The Chirping of a Cicada(鳴蟬賦) and Tangerine Ode(橘頌). He recognized Cho-sa as beautiful writing and read it frequently to cultivate his mind and body. He also perceived that partial works of Cho-sa has different aesthetic effects in some cases. His poetry mostly described the picture that he and others concentrate on Cho-sa and recite it. It seems to be a way to aiming noble personality and relieving his misery loves company sadness.
