이 글은 기존의 연구에서 심리타동사로 보았던 부류들을 심리용언의 일종으로 볼 수 있는지에 대하여 살펴보았다. 이 연구에서는 심리용언은 주어의 내적 심리 상태를 서술하는 용언이라는 의미적인 정의 이외에 주어의 경험주 의미역 할당을 그 필수적 조건으로 보았다. 주어의 의미역에 대하여 살펴본 결과 심리형용사의 주어에는 경험주 의미역이 할당되지만 인지동사나 '-어하다' 동사는 행동성과 의도성의 측면을 볼 때 주어에 경험주 의미역이 할당되기 어려움을 알 수 있었다. 나머지 특성들에서도 심리형용사와 다른 동사들 간의 차이가 현저한 것을 알 수 있다.용언의 유형은 의미적, 통사적 특성을 공유해야 하기 때문에 심리형용사와 '-어하다' 동사, '생각하다, 믿다, 알다' 등의 인지동사 부류를 심리용언이라는 하나의 유형으로 묶기가 어렵다. 그러므로 한국어에는 심리타동사라는 범주를 설정할 수 없다.
Abstract
In this article, I examine whether the category of psychological transitive verbs can be established in korean. The basis assumption is that the subject of the psychological predicate constructions is Experiencer. Psychological adjectives are different from ‘-eha’ verbs and cognitive verbs(saenggakhada, alda, etc.) in the thematic role of the subject. Psychological adjectives have the Experiencer subject, on the other hand, ‘-eha’ verb constructions and cognitive verb constructions have the feature of agentivity and so the subjects of them are not Experiencer. As considering to the other aspects, psychological adjectives differ from ‘-eha’ verbs and cognitive verbs. So-called “the psychological transitive verbs” can not be considered as the psychological predicates. Therefore, there's no the category of the psychological transitive verbs in Korean.
