제주칠머리당영등굿에 나타난 굿춤의 특성 연구

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the dance elements that appear in Jeju Chilmeoridang Yeongdeunggut and to examine the behavioral meaning contained in them and the characteristics of shaman dance. Methods: For this study, participatory observation was conducted within the Jeju Chilmeoridang Yeongdeunggut Preservation Association, utilizing ethnographic study methods. In-depth interviews were held with a total of six individuals including two transmission educators who perform the ritual, one certified practitioner, two researchers specializing in rituals, and one PhD holder in dance study. The interview data were analyzed using repeated comparative analysis to identify keywords and themes by extracting commonly occurring words. Result: As a result of analyzing the acts of Jeju Chilmeoridang Yeongdeunggut, there were a total of 9 dance elements excluding acts, and a total of 28 detailed dances. The formal characteristics of Jeju Chilmeoridang Yeongdeunggut are largely expressed in the fixed forms and standardized dance movements, the horizontal dance movements of the Simbang dance, and the improvisation of the Danggol dance. Simbang dance involves extensive use of ritual implements and features condensed movements, while collective dances performed by participants show a unique group dynamic. Conclusion: First, Jeju Chilmeoridang Yeongdeunggut Dance is centered around a certain form. Second, Jeju Chilmeoridang Yeongdeunggut dance is characterized by horizontal dance movements. Third, Jeju Chilmeoridang Yeongdeunggut dance is characterized by the symbolic nature of the Simbang dance and the improvisational nature of the Dangol dance.
