초록
Abstract
It is often told that one of the pillars of J. S. Bach's music is the dance music. However not many articles explain how he did. This article tried to explain how J. S. Bach used dance as the basic material for his music. The article examined the first section of "Gloria" (Gloria in excelsis Deo), and revealed how J. S. Bach used the dance idea in this section. First, he used the meter, affection, and rhythmic motions of a specific dance, gigue. Also he used the typical dance form in this portion even though the form is intentionally blurred by text, articulation, and texture. Third he also borrowed the rhetorical plan of dance for this portion
