본 논문은 요한 세바스티안 바흐라는 ‘거대 존재’가 걷어내어진 독자적 여성 음악가 안나 막달 레나 바흐를 탐구한다. 당대 최고 명성의 크리스티아네 파울리네 켈너를 사사한 안나 막달레나는 진보적이고 폭넓은 음악교육을 받았는데, 이는 여성의 교육 및 음악교육을 당연시한 루터교, 루 터교의 영향이 미쳐 있는 가정문학에 힘입은 바가 크다. 안나 막달레나의 음악가 활동 역시 루터 교에서 출발해 가정문학으로 이어진 독일의 여성관을 기반으로 한다. 여성 음악가에게 문호를 개방하기 시작한 궁정과 교회의 변화도 한 몫을 했다. 안나 막달레나는 음악가로서 그 공적을 역사에 새긴 근대의 여성 음악가였다. 쾨텐 궁정의 최초 여성 성악가, 남성 음악가들을 능가하는 경제적 대우를 누린 여성 성악가, 궁정에서든 도시에서든 중요 음악 행사 및 문화의 한 가운데에 섰던 여성 성악가, 마침내 당대의 저명 음악가 사전에 이름을 올린 여성 성악가였다. ‘현대’와 미래의 음악에 관심을 둔 음악가이기도 했다. 유럽 근대 여성 음악가 계보의 한 주요 인물로 자 리 잡기에 충분하다.
Abstract
This thesis investigates Anna Magdalena Bach as an individual female musician, separated from “the great presence” Johann Sebastian Bach. Anna Magdalena, who studied under Christiane Pauline Kellner, received a progressive and extensive music education, largely due to Hausväterliteratur which was influenced by Lutheranism. The activities of Anna Magdalena also based on the view of the women, which was connected from Lutheranism to Hausväterliteratur. Since the court and church had started to open the door to women, this change also took a part. Anna Magdalena was the female musician who carved the achievement into history. She was the female vocalist who was the first in the Köthen court, who stood in the center of the important music events and cultures – whether in court or in the city, who was finally named in the musician dictionary of her time. She was also a musician with an interest in “modern” music. She is enough to establish herself as a major figure in the genealogy of modern European female musicians.
