Abstract
China, Korea, and Japan have exchanged goods, informations, and various cultures through commerces for a long time. The purpose of this study is to reveal the relationship between the shapes and colors of tea bowls in the historical background of China's Tang Dynasty, Song Dynasty, Korea's Goryeo Dynasty and Silla Dynasty and Japan's Momoyama period. This study focuses on the form of tea bows, which was exported as tea utensils in some periods of the Tang Dynasty(618~907) and Song Dynasty(960~1279) in the case of China, and focuses on the Goryeo Dynasty, culturally and technologically progressive and prosperous culture of Buddhism, tea, and celadon in the case of Korea, and focuses on the Momoyama period, when tea ceremony culture became popular throughout Japan and the demand for various tea bowls along with tea increased rapidly in the case of Japan. In Chapter 2, to find the connection between tea and tea bowls, the historical・periodical backgrounds of tea in the three eastern countries are described first, and then the relationship between tea and tea bowl is described. The aristocratic tea spread to the common people as it became known that it had medicinal effects besides self-discipline. At the same time, tea bowls were produced in Yuezhouyao, Zhejiang Province, China. The height of the products was low, the diameter of the heel was wide, and the mouth was open. This type of celadon tea bowls became a typical form of the time. Goryeo imitated the technique of making Chinese style HAEMURI-GUP(해무리굽) tea bowls and developed it into its own celadon culture, and Japan produced tea bowls imitating the influence of China and Goryeo, but developed it into the aesthetics of tea ceremony while producing tea bowls containing its own spirit. Chapter 3 discusses the relationship between the characteristics of tea bowls and the relationship between tea. It also describes the effect of the degree of fermentation of tea, how to brew tea, and how to drink tea on the shape and color of tea bowls. JACHA-method(자차법) uses a relatively light colored tea bowl, and JEOMCHA-method(점차법) uses a relatively dark colored tea bowls. In addition, the similarities and differences of tea bowls are described by examining their shapes. The conclusions drawn from the study are as follows. First, the shape and color of the tea bowl are related to various factors. It is related to many factors such as how to make tea, how to drink tea, how to feel the preference difference about the fermentation degree, and how it affects the shape and color of tea bowl, and how to enjoy it. Second, the influence of the three countries in the East developed into the unique characteristics of each country. The 'Chinese style HAEMURI-GUP(해무리굽) tea bowl' imitated by Goryeo opened the era of Goryeo celadon as it led to the production of 'Celadon HAEMURI-GUP(해무리굽) tea bowl' with the spirit of Goryeo.
