본 연구의 목적은 행동경제학이 경험론적 전환에 성공하고, 주류경제학의 한계를 극복할 대안이 되었는지를 확인하는 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 21세기 현재 실효의 한계를 보인 주류경제학을 봉합하거나 극복하는 행동경제학의 시도가 어떤 영향력을 보이고 있는지를 살펴보고, 행동경제학이 경제학의 패러다임 변화를 가져왔는지, 경험론적 전환에 성공했는지를 알아본다. 연구의 순서는 다음과 같다. 먼저 행동경제학의 전개과정을 살펴본다. 특히 신행동경제학으로 발전하면서 등장한 실험경제학과 신경경제학의 전개과정도 같이 확인한다. 다음으로 경제학에서 경험론적 전환이 이루어졌는지를 분석한다. 그리고 행동경제학의 특징을 주류경제학과 비교해서 알아본다. 마지막으로 행동경제학 연구의 의의와 한계, 그리고 앞으로의 과제를 검토한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to verify whether behavioral economics has succeeded in the empirical turn and has become an alternative to overcome the limitations of mainstream economics. Therefore, this study examines the influence of behavioral economics’ attempts to suture or overcome mainstream economics, which has shown limitations in its effectiveness in the 21st century, and whether behavioral economics has brought about a paradigm shift in economics and succeeded in the empirical turn. The order of the study is as follows. First, we examine the development process of behavioral economics. In particular, we examine the development process of experimental economics and neuroeconomics, which emerged as new behavioral economics developed. Next, we analyze whether an empirical turn in economics has occurred in economics. Then, we compare the characteristics of behavioral economics with mainstream economics. Finally, we examine the significance and limitations of behavioral economics research and future tasks.
