Abstract
Choreographic classes are important in the sense that they provide opportunities for dance students to experiment various choreographic propositions based on their dance experiences. This study purposes to provide a theoretical framework in which choreographic process is analyzed systematically. A theoretical framework consists of two elements: functions and structure. First, the specific functions required in choreographic process are analyzed in terms of various forms of artistic participation. Secondly, considering interactive phenomena in choreographic process, the choreographic structure is modeled with structural elements, which are interrelated and interactive. Because the suggested framework for choreographic process is not affected by the changes of dance form, style, aesthetic concept, etc., it is expected that dance students can utilize this framework to develop their choreographic capabilities.
